Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year on Team Vista

As promised in the September mailing, here are all the forms that you should have received in the mail from the middle school. If you did not receive the mailing or are missing any of the forms, just click-on the form and print it out at home. If you can’t do that, you may stop by the middle school office (located in the new Kingswood Arts Center)  and pick up a copy or call the middle school at 569-3689 and they will mail you copies of anything you did not receive.

It is important that you read all the handouts from the team. We start school on September 19 and go on the fall overnight three days later. You need to make sure you are not only ready for the first day of school, but for the overnight as well.

I have posted all forms that should have gone home beginning with the first mailing in June and the second mailing in September.

Make sure you read and review everything. We will begin Monday with advisory activities followed by team and basecamp activities. We will also spend time getting everyone up to speed about the overnight answering any and all questions you might have about what to pack, tents, hiking and the like.

Gear and tents need to be brought to school on Tuesday, September 20. We will also hike for the first time as a basecamp on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Keep reading and I’ll be reading, running, hiking and doing lots of fishing during our extended summer vacation. I can’t wait for the overnight and seeing you all again or for the very first time. I leave you with this final quote:

“If one man or woman of principle can make a difference… Imagine what a community can do.”

On behalf of all the teachers on the team, welcome again to the Team Vista community.
