Here’s what we did today:

1. We finished up work in study groups on the work on the handout on propaganda that we passed out yesterday. All work should be in your journal; journal will be collected on Friday.

2. A test on Animal Farm was given on That Quiz. If you were absent, login to the site and use this test code:

to take the test. You can use all of your resources including the book to complete the test.

Reminders:

1. Come dressed and be ready to hike on Friday.

2. Friday is also the Winter Bazaar.

3. Be ready to tell your basecamp teacher your topic for Immersion Day that takes place on Monday, March 3.

1. Today, we started with the  link to the original blog post on propaganda from February 11.

2. Next, we passed out this new handout on propaganda. On the last page, are questions we used as we discussed the handout, propaganda posters, and the documentary by Dave Zirin, Not Just A Game. We watched the 12-minute clip “In the Arena.”

3. Here’s a copy of the notes that were given at beginning and during class.

4. Here’s a link to the original article from World Book Encyclopedia about propaganda that we gave you with additional examples of propaganda posters.

Here’s what we did today:

1. We began class with a brief discussion follow-up of the questions from chapter 8 that you discussed in your study groups last Thursday.

2. We read and discussed chapters 9 & 10.

3. Mrs. Peterson gave a lot notes about our chapter 8 discussion and our discussion on final two chapters, chapters 9 & 10. Compare your notes to the copy posted here . Remember, your notes should be more detailed the these.

Reminders:

1. 8th graders—Signed, 9th grade registration sheets are due to your basecamp teacher on or before Wednesday, February 19.

2. Permission slips were handed out in basecamp to attend the play Richard III at the Kingswood Arts Center by Advice To The Players on Thursday, March 13. The cost of the performance is $5.00. Return your money and your permission slip to your basecamp teacher by Friday, February, 21.
