Denali Quinzee Shelters

For two weeks now Vista has been working on our snow huts, Quinzees, as you all know. Denali chose a building site just off of Muddy Moose, and though we are still in progress, here are some shots of Denali with their Quinzees.

Here’s the Agenda Book update for this week:

•Spring trip permission slip and $165.00 full payment due by Wednesday this week.

•Weekly spelling test and word study sheet #14 due on Saturday, Feb. 12.

•All 4 classes on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week.

•Egypt Research Notes check #1 for a grade on Monday or Tuesday this week.

•Egypt Research Notes check #2 on Thursday this week.

•Egypt Presentations for all groups on Thursday this week.

•Learning log entry #3 will be done in class on Friday this week.

Reminders for your presentation:

•All classes will have the first hour of class on Monday or Tuesday to finish up.

•You must have at least 5 slides.

•All members must participate in the briefing/presentation to the class.

•Be ready to answer questions from the audience during your debriefing.

Do not read from your slides; use them for talking points.

•Slides capture the audience’s attention and foster understanding better when more  images and graphics are used; again, if you use words and captions—don’t make the mistake of reading to your audience.

•One slide must be a Work Cited page. You must use at least 12 sources. There are at least 25 sources listed. The more viewpoints you read, the better your understanding.

•Keep all your research notes in your Geography/History Journal.
