1.  Complete Lesson 5 in the vocabulary book & study for the Lesson 5 test.

2.  2 Truths & 1 Lie Vocab Game:  Use the Word Origin packet to create two new words (that were not used in the last game).  Both words must have at least one prefix, one base/root, and 1 suffix.  Provide a realistic definition for each of your words based on the meanings of the prefixes, root/bases and suffixes you choose.  Then, find an uncommon word that really exists that is of Greek or Latin origin that has a prefix, root/base and suffix.  Provide its definition as well.  List all three words on a piece of paper so we can play “2 Truths and 1Lie” later in the week.

4.  Complete Poetry Page for the Vista Poetry Book


Math

Work at least 15 minutes on your study stack.

Science


Work for at least an hour on project for the what you consider the worst weather. Remember you will be teaching what you learned and be prepared to answer questions that relate to your presentation. Remember to be neat, thorough and have fun.

 

Social Studies

Spend at least 60 minutes on the following assignment.

“Outback Steakhouse”

Read the above three articles:

  1. Read each article first without a pencil in your hand.
  2. Then, read each article a second time with a pencil in your hand. Think about all the things we have practiced when reading and annotating with a pencil in your hand.
  3. After you are finished with step 2, read each article a second time.

•Find a partner to do a TodaysMeet discussion online.  (www.todaysmeet.com)
•Create the room and the address.
•Agree to a time on Monday, April 30, to discuss the article.
•Have at least a 20 to 30 discussion online about the articles.
•Print out a copy of the transcript and bring it to school.

What’s Up For Today

1. Any one interested in improving their score on the Health Care Test, can take a retest in class on Thursday, April 12. You must submit a plan in writing (4 to 8 sentences) as to what you did to prepare for the taking of the retest.

2. Page numbers will be checked in class on Thursday.

3. Reading lists will also be checked in class on Thursday; make sure they are up to date with the current book you are reading.

4. Permission slips and money for our trip to the Formula Hybrid Competition at the NH Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH, are due to your basecamp teacher by Friday, April 13. Remember to return both the Vista Permission Slip and the Parental Consent, Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement filled out and signed on both sides. This form is a standard form from the speedway.

Final Day of Work on the Health Care Law

Today is your final day of prep work before the test on Health Care on Tuesday, April 10.

In class today, finish working in your large table group discussing and adding to your Google Doc Notes on Health Care.

View the following two YouTube presentations at least once during class and at least once at home:

•Animated Explanation of the Affordable Care Act (9:05)

Take notes about the information presented in the above animated explanations right after #11 on your Google Notes Sheet.

Study at home tonight by reviewing your notes. Remember, you must have a printed copy of your notes in class for the test on Tuesday. You may also use any notes you might have in your social studies journal.
