Final Reminders for Friday, June 20, 2014

1. Field Day is tomorrow. Bring sneakers, water bottle, and sunscreen.

2. All gear from the Spring Trip is due to your basecamp teacher on or before Friday, June 20.

3. Nature journals and memory minutes are due to your basecamp teacher on Friday.

4. 8th Grade Promotion takes place on Friday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m.

Final Reminders For Spring Trip

1. We leave for the trip on Monday at 7:45 am.

2. Come dressed and be ready to hike. You need to wear:

•Shorts, non-cotton
•T-shirt, non-cotton
•Over-the-ankle hiking socks, non-cotton
•Hiking boots

3. Bring your bag lunch for Monday only.

4. On Wednesday, June 18, we will be returning to school around 4:30 pm. You need to have a ride waiting to take you home; do not plan on taking the late bus. There is always the possibility that our arrival back to school could be delayed because of weather conditions.

5. All gear needs to be returned to your basecamp teacher by Friday, June 20. All clothing and rain gear should be washed and dried. Backpacks and sleeping bags must be free of all loose debris.

6. Finally, spring trip nature journals are due to your basecamp teacher by Thursday, June 19.

Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day, also called Operation Overlord, the greatest amphibious invasion in history and a turning point for World War II.

The invasion took place on June 6, 1944.

1. Background reading and notetaking continued on Day 2 of Pro/Con Debate Topics.

2. The last in-class for work for the debate is Monday, June 9.

3. Remember, groups should be assigning work for outside of class in order to be fully prepared for the opening round of debating on Tuesday, June 10.

4. Wednesday, June 11, is the 8th grade Canobie Lake Trip and 7th grade Leader In Training (LIT) workshops.

5. Debates wrap-up on Thursday, June 12.
