Here’s what we did in SSEnglish today:

1. We began with a discussion about the Five Elements of Fiction (page 5),  and Mrs. Peterson gave notes on the Five Elements of Fiction. Add these notes to your SSEnglish Table of Contents.

2. Today’s poem was “Casey At The Bat” (pages 13 and 14) by Ernest L. Thayer. Mrs. Peterson read it aloud and we also listened to Frank Deford’s reading of it. Don’t forget to update your Poetry Table of Contents.

Your assignment tonight is to practice a dramatic reading of the poem several times before you read it your parents. Ask them to take a turn reading it too. Remember, poetry is meant to be read out loud.
