Today in SSEnglish, Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Here’s what we did today:

1. We began class with a handout for the Poetry Table of Contents—don’t forget to update (especially you, The Big Three, whose TOC was all messed up today; you know who you are). We read and enjoyed a poem by Emily Dickinson.

Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson

Emily is one our most famous New England poets. She was born in Amherst, Massachusetts and lived from 1830-1886. Here’s a link to more information about Emily.

Thank you to Rebecca and Ms. Bunting for sharing the book with us.

If you were absent today, don’t forget to get a copy of the poem handout and get the notes from someone about today’s poem.

2. Work continued in research groups on Fracturing. Posters are due tomorrow and presentations take place on Tuesday, October 22.

3. SSEnglish journals were collected at the end of class and will be graded and returned on Wednesday.

Coming up: More Dancing With the Stars to Big Band Ballads, Jazz, and Swing, always with a little bit of a Russian twist.
